Asymmetrical basket making

This 2-day course with Rachel Evans will guide you through the process of making an asymmetrical basket with a wooden handle in wonderful natural colours. If you have a lovely handle to bring then feel free, otherwise there will be a selection available to choose from.

You will learn how to make a round base, choose stakes and stake up, then learn different weaves to make the main body of the basket and then weave a stepped weave at the top to hold it all together. The handle is fitted using the last few stakes. You will be using home grown willows from Rachel’s willow bed and some Somerset willow.
