Split Hazel Basketry

Lewis Goldwater will be teaching this course. You’ll be weaving with split hazel to produce a strong and durable traditional split-hazel frame basket, known as a “whisket” from the Welsh Marches.
Starting with rods of Hazel, you will prepare all of the components with a minimum of tools before assembling them into a ‘Whisket’ of your own creating.

Lewis is an experienced basket weaver and has taught this style of basket around the country.
The course can be more physically demanding than traditional basketry so please advise if you have a history back/neck/shoulder or knee problems.
